01

Who we are

PinPoint is a mobile application developed by Eloquent Software. This Privacy Policy explains how the application handles — or more precisely, does not handle — your personal information.

This policy applies to the PinPoint app available on iOS (App Store) and Android (Google Play).

02

Information we collect

🔒 We collect no personal information whatsoever. There are no accounts, no sign-ins, and no servers that receive your data.

All data you create in PinPoint — saved pins, coordinates, notes, photos, timestamps, and alarms — is stored exclusively in your device's local storage using industry-standard on-device databases. This data is never transmitted to Eloquent Software or any third party.

03

Device permissions explained

PinPoint requests the following device permissions. Each is used solely to provide the feature described — nothing else.

04

How your data is stored

All app data is stored using AsyncStorage and the device file system — standard, sandboxed, on-device storage provided by the iOS and Android operating systems.

Photos you attach are copied to your device's documents directory — a location that is private to PinPoint and not accessible by other apps. They are never synced to iCloud, Google Drive, or any other cloud service by PinPoint (though your device's own backup settings may independently back up your documents folder).

If you delete the app, all app data is removed from your device along with it.

05

Data sharing & third parties

We do not share your data with anyone. There are no third-party analytics SDKs, advertising networks, crash reporting tools, or data brokers integrated into PinPoint.

The only external service PinPoint communicates with is Google Maps, used to render map tiles and to translate coordinates into human-readable addresses (reverse geocoding). This communication uses only your current coordinates for the geocoding lookup and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. No personally identifiable information accompanies these requests.

06

Sharing features

PinPoint includes an optional feature to share a saved pin (address, coordinates, and a Google Maps link) via your device's native share sheet. This action is entirely user-initiated. Nothing is shared automatically. You control what you share, with whom, and when.

07

Data export & backup

PinPoint allows you to export all your pins, timestamps, and alarms as a JSON file to any location you choose. This file is yours — Eloquent Software never receives it. You can import it back into PinPoint at any time.

08

Children's privacy

PinPoint does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The app is compliant with COPPA, GDPR, and CCPA by design — not by policy patch.

09

Changes to this policy

If we ever change how PinPoint handles data in a way that affects your privacy, we will update this policy and revise the "Last updated" date above. We commit to never introducing data collection practices without your explicit knowledge and consent.
